Guwahati: Guwahati-based filmmaker Kishore Kalita’s latest documentary, “Letters From Vietnam,” has been officially selected for the MAX SIR International Film Festival 2024 in Costa Rica.

This follows the critical acclaim and awards received for his previous film, “Veerangana.”

“Letters From Vietnam” is a captivating travelogue that explores the beauty, culture, and history of this Southeast Asian nation. The film offers a unique perspective on Vietnamese life, showcasing its stunning landscapes, historical landmarks, and vibrant traditions.

Kalita’s journey through Vietnam was a spiritually moving experience. He captured the essence of the country’s diverse regions, from the bustling cities to the serene countryside. His boat trips through the intricate network of rivers and canals provided breathtaking views of the picturesque Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The film highlights iconic landmarks such as the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the One-pillar Pagoda, and the Temple of Literature, offering insights into Vietnam’s rich history and cultural heritage. Kalita’s visit to the Phu Quoc United Center, a popular tourist resort, showcased the island’s natural beauty and vibrant atmosphere.
