High Court has ordered the state's PWD to submit a detailed report on the road project's progress within four weeks.

Itanagar: The Itanagar bench of the Gauhati High Court has directed the Arunachal Pradesh government to immediately address the deteriorating condition of the road connecting Itanagar, Jullang, Naharlagun, and Nirjuli.

Acting on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by advocates Doge Lona and Vijay Jamoh, the court expressed serious concern over the prolonged neglect of the road despite the project’s deadline being exceeded by over three years.

The petitioners presented compelling evidence, including photographs, highlighting the road’s dilapidated state.

The High Court has ordered the state’s Public Works Department (PWD) to submit a detailed report on the road project’s progress within four weeks.

Until then, the PWD has been instructed to ensure the road is passable for the public.
