Guwahati: Adding another feather to healthcare education in the state, Tinsukia Medical College and Hospital (TMCH) has received official recognition from the National Medical Commission.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to X handle and made this announcement.
With this recognition, Tinsukia Medical College and Hospital becomes the 13th institute for medical studies in the northeastern state.
A total of 100 undergraduate seats have been approved per year, announced the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister wrote, “Great news for the people of Assam. The National Medical Commission has officially recognized Tinsukia Medical College, approving 100 undergraduate admissions per year. With this, the number of medical colleges in Assam has now risen to 13.”
He further added, “My deepest gratitude to the medical fraternity of Assam for this outstanding achievement. I also extend my heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister @narendramodiJi for graciously inaugurating Tinsukia Medical College. This milestone marks a significant step forward in enhancing healthcare education and services in our state.”
Sarma expressed his gratitude to the medical fraternity and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who inaugurated the facility during his two-day visit to the state on March 9.
