Guwahati: A rhino carcass was found at a field in Nagaon, Assam on Tuesday.

Forest officials informed that locals in Kaliabor found the carcass.

On receiving the input of the rhino being found dead, a forest department team moved to the location to investigate the incident.

On reaching the spot, officials found that the rhino may have died of natural causes but the exact cause of death is being examined.

They also ruled out any possibility of poaching-related activity as the horn was intact on the animal.

The rhino is suspected to have strayed out of the Kaziranga National Park.

The officials said that they are also looking for signs that may lead to any foul play but they have not found any so far.
