AGARTALA: Biplab Kumar Deb, incumbent Rajya Sabha MP and candidate for the West Tripura Lok Sabha constituency, revealed on Thursday (March 08) night that the BJP’s parliamentary board is set to convene to determine the party’s candidate for the East Tripura Lok Sabha constituency.

Following a meeting with TIPRA founder Pradyot Debbarman, Deb said that the discussion centred on the future course of action.

He reiterated that the BJP’s core agenda remains focused on inclusive development.

Responding to queries regarding the East Tripura constituency, Deb affirmed that the BJP would announce its candidate imminently.

He disclosed that the parliamentary board will convene once Prime Minister Narendra Modi schedules the meeting.

During this session, the final decision on the candidate for the East Tripura seat will be reached.

Deb assured that the announcement would be made within a couple of days following the board’s deliberations.
