Imphal: Security forces in Manipur have recovered a significant cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives during search operations conducted in the Kangpokpi district.

Acting on intelligence reports suggesting hidden militant weapons, a joint team of central and state forces launched operations in suspected locations.

The operation led to the discovery of a concealed stockpile of war-like materials in a secluded area.

While no arrests were made during the operation, the recovered cache included a CMG with a magazine, a 9mm pistol with a magazine, a country mortar, a country-made pump gun with explosives, an unexploded 2-inch mortar HE bomb, an unexploded 2-inch mortar smoke bomb, a country-made live mortar shell, a No. 36 hand grenade with detonator, a Baofeng set with charger, 35 5.56 mm ammunition rounds, and 55 7.62 mm ammunition rounds.

The seized weapons and explosives have been handed over to the Kangpokpi district police for further investigation and legal proceedings.
