This decision comes after a thorough assessment of ground reports, prioritizing the Society’s interests and the constituency’s well-being.
The Executive Body emphasized fielding and supporting only one Tangha clan candidate – Hamjong Tangha – due to his strong grassroots presence.
They believe a change in leadership is crucial. The incumbent MLA, representing the Muklom tribe for the past 25 years, is accused of neglecting human resource development, infrastructure projects, and road connectivity.

The TTWS firmly discourages any other Tangha clan member from contesting, aiming to maintain unified support for Sri Hamjong Tangha.
The 52-Changlang South (ST) Assembly Constituency has roughly 6,000 voters belonging to various Tangsa sub-tribes, including Jugli, Muklom, Havi, and Tutsa.
Among these, the Muklom tribe holds a dominant voter base of around 3,500. However, the TTWS highlights that the Tangha clan within the Muklom community, with approximately 2,000 voters, plays a significant role in election outcomes.
Given the Tangha clan’s importance, the Society’s decision to endorse Hamjong Tangha is considered vital for his success.
The TTWS urges the BJP High Command of Arunachal Pradesh to grant the party ticket to Hamjong Tangha.
They believe it’s time to break the 25-year dominance of the current MLA and offer the constituency a chance for long-awaited development.
