The 21st Sector of Assam Rifles organized workshops on ‘World No Tobacco Day’ at Marithang , Thandachara villages of Gomati district and at Fatikcherra High School in Radhanagar of Tripura on Thursday.

The students, youth and local population were sensitized about ill effects of tobacco.

It is the single largest cause of cancer. People were also inspired to give up tobacco habit, for better and healthy life.
An Assam Rifles press communiqué said that a total of 427 people attended the informative talk.
Apart from this, the Assam Rifles also conducted a workshop on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padao’ in conjunction with National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM) in Durganagar and Lathaibari villages of Khowai district on Thursday.
Jayanti Singha and Supriya Barman, area president of Khowai district unit of National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM) enlightened the gathering on preventing gender biased elimination and ensuring survival and protection of girl child.

A total of 305 people attended the informative talk, who appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles for supporting social cause, the Assam Rifles press release added.
