Mizoram Education Minister H Rohluna asked teachers across the state to read other books apart from textbooks to explain different career opportunities to students.

The Minister on Monday inaugurated the 6th edition of the EDUOPTIONS at Assembly House Annexe in Aizawl.

In his address, Rohluna said teachers, especially of the government schools need to upgrade themselves to keep pace with the fast changing society. “My department has been urging the teachers to sharpen their skills to be able to tackle the challenges of the competitive world for the sake of their students,” Rohluna said.

“Students must leverage the opportunities they get at the education fair to develop their skills and thus, build a bright future,” Rohluna said.

The educational fair is being organized by Lynchpin in collaboration with Aizawl based newspaper Zalen and is the 16th edition of the event. They have jointly organized 15 educational fairs in the past.

“EDUOPTIONS aims to provide the students with a platform which will allow the students well informed for pursuing further studies and taking up professions within the state, country and even internationally, that are most suited to their educational disciplines and skill sets,” Vanlalrema Vantawl, editor of Zalen said.

22 national and internationally acclaimed universities participated in this three day education fair.
