Sikkim Rajya Manch (SRM) President RN Chamling officially launched the party website here on Thursday afternoon. The SRM President dedicated the website – www.srmp.co.in – to the people of Sikkim.
SRM party was formed by Independent MLA, RN Chamling on December 7 last year at Sreebadam in West Sikkim.
The main objective of launching the website is to take the messages, programmes and activities of the party to every person of Sikkim. It has been stated that the party would now increase the pace of its activities and programmes across the State.
In his address, party President Chamling mentioned that the party has been working in the grassroot level and the people have continued to join the party.
Chamling also expressed that the party wants to join hands with the people in the grassroot level and has been working in the interest of Sikkim and its people. “We have been working to bring the people of Sikkim together and unite them. We all have to work in the interest of Sikkim as Sikkimese by coming above the religion and community,” he said.
Chamling also stated that SRM has been protesting injustice to the people of Sikkim. “I have been raising issues of the people of Sikkim in every session of the State Assembly but the response is not satisfactory,” he said. He also alleged that the huge debt on the State has been hindering the proper development of Sikkim.
He said the party would not remain silent if anyone works against the interest of Sikkim and its people. Chamling stated that SRM would place its policies, principles and programmes in coming days before the people.
Responding to media queries, Chamling stated that the ban on sale of vegetables from outside has been implemented without proper planning which has led to the shortage of vegetables in the market. He added that problem has been created as the State does not have sufficient production of vegetables for the people of the State. Chamling demanded that the government should take steps to immediately supply organic vegetables to the markets for the convenience of the people.
