Swargam Kala Niketan, a classical music institute based in Namrup, organised a ‘Talk with guest’ programme at the Namrup BVFCL Fertilizer Shramik Union office auditorium on Monday.
The programme was presided over by the Principal of Swargam Kala Niketan, Smrity Rekha Kalita.
The ‘Talk with the guest’ programme started with a divine song performed by the students of Swargam Kala Niketan.
The programme was attended as the Chief Guest by multifaceted personality Brojananda Bhuyan, who is a noted cultural worker, actor and writer.
During the programme an evergreen song of renowned lyricist Parbati Prasad Baruah was taught. The meaning and history of different forms of Bihu songs (Bihu Namms) were explained at the event.
Those who were present at the programme were delighted to know about various forms of Bihu songs like Jujona, Jalana Naam, Thela Naam, Jat Naam, Jura Naam and many others.
A felicitation programme was also held on the occasion.
The dignitaries who were present in the programme included Swargam Kala Niketan Principal Smrity Rekha Kalita, Joint Secretary Rima Bharali. Besides, more than 30 guests joined the programme.
