The Barpeta Police has arrested six persons for allegedly being involved in alleged drug peddling from the Azad Nagar area of Barpeta.
The accused were arrested based on a tip-off with the police.
According to the input with the police, an operation was launched and six persons were arrested.

They have been identified as Abdul Ali, Rajdul Dewan, Baharul Islam, Samar Ali, Afzal Khan and Saddam Hussain.
The police said that they have been involved in both smuggling and peddling of contraband substances in the area.

After their arrested, the police found six vials of suspected heroin along with a syringe.
Their mobile phones were also seized which were suspected to have been used for dealing with the contraband substances.
The police, however, have not made a statement of what drug they were exactly dealing with.
