Defence minister Rajnath Singh, on Sunday, said that Pakistan is aiming at promoting terrorism in India.ย 

โ€œPakistan wants to promote terrorism in India,โ€ defence minister Rajnath Singh said while speaking at an event.ย 

Singh further said that India is working towards eliminating the menace of terrorism from the roots.ย 

โ€œIndian Armed Forces foiled Pakistan’s plans in 1971 and now we are working towards eliminating terrorism from the root,โ€ he said.ย 

Rajnath Singh was speaking at theย inaugural ceremony of โ€˜Swarnim Vijay Parvโ€™ in New Delhi on Sunday.ย

Singh said: โ€œIndia has contributed to the establishment of democracy in Bangladesh. Today we are very happy that in the last 50 years Bangladesh has progressed on the path of development.โ€ย 

โ€œToday, I bow to the bravery, valourย andย sacrifice of every soldier of Indiaโ€™s armed forces, due to which India won the 1971 war. The country will always be indebted to them for their sacrifice,โ€ he added.ย 

The defence minister further informed that the Centre has decided toย celebrate โ€˜Swarnim Vijay Parv’ with โ€˜simplicityโ€™ as a mark of respect to CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 other armed forces personnel, who died in a helicopter crash on December 8.ย
