Northeast Frontier Railway has unloaded 1,107 freight carrying trains in November 2021.

NF Railway carried 8,659 rakes of freight trains from April-November, 2021 as against 6,952 rakes in the corresponding period last year with an increase of 24.55%.

NF Railway has transported goods like FCI rice, sugar, salt, edible oil, POL, food grains, fertilizer, cement, stone chips, iron/steel, onion, maize, auto, container and other items during the month and unloaded them in different goods sheds in its jurisdiction.

During November, 604 rakes of freight-carrying trains were unloaded in Assam, out of which 353 were loaded with essential commodities.

“A total of 101 rakes in Tripura, 28 rakes in Nagaland, 8 rakes in Manipur, 4 rakes in Arunachal Pradesh and 13 rakes in Mizoram were unloaded during November 2021,” said a statement issued by Guneet Kaur,  chief public relations officer (CPRO), NF Railway.

A total of 194 freight rakes in West Bengal and 155 freight rakes in Bihar were also unloaded during the month of November within the jurisdiction of NF Railway.

Essential and other commodities are being transported regularly to not only meet the essential requirement of common people but also to keep the local economic activity of all the regions going.

Improved terminal handling facility and improvement in mobility due to enhanced maintenance efforts & continuous monitoring at all level resulted in the reduction of turnaround time and increased unloading.
