12 suspended Rajya Sabha lawmakers from the opposition parties including Assam MP Ripun Bora will write to chairman of the Upper House M Venkaiah Naidu against their suspension.
Assam Congress Rajya Sabha MP Ripun Bora was among the 12 opposition lawmakers to be suspended from the Upper House on Monday.
Ripun Bora and 11 other Rajya Sabha MPs were suspended from the Upper House for “creating ruckus” during passing of the farm laws repeal bill.
Meanwhile, eight opposition party leaders led by Congress’ Mallikarjun Kharge, on Tuesday, met Rajya Sabha chairman M Venkaiah Naidu and urged him to re-consider revocation of suspension of 12 MPs.
According to sources, chairman Naidu told the opposition delegation that an apology from the suspended MPs is a must for revocation of their suspension.

Meanwhile, the 12 suspended MPs will also stage a sit-in protest in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue in Parliament on Wednesday.
“Our two MPs will sit before the Mahatma Gandhi statue in Parliament premises from tomorrow 10am-6pm daily till December 23. We will invite other MPs also to come to show solidarity with our MPs,” informed TMC MP Derek O’Brien.
Meanwhile, the Centre has defended the suspension of the 12 opposition MPs saying that it was necessary step to protect sanctity of the House.
“Some opposition MPs had created ruckus, there was whistling, hooting, one MP had tried to vandalise a LED screen. Few MPs also attacked women marshals in the Monsoon Session. Action was needed to protect sanctity of the House,” said union minister Piyush Goyal.
Meanwhile, opposition leaders, on Tuesday, staged a protest in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue in Parliament premises over suspension of the 12 MPs.
The opposition MPs also staged a walkout from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha after Upper House chairman M Venkaiah Naidu rejected revocation of the suspension of the MPs.
