Meghalaya bye-election 2021: The National People’s Party (NPP) is leading in 2 Assembly seats while the United Democratic Party (UDP) is leading in 1 seat as the counting of votes for 3 Meghalaya Assembly seats has been underway since 8 am on Tuesday.

According to the latest updates on the official websites of the Election Commission of India(ECI), NPP is leading in Mawryngkneng and Rajabala seats while the UDP is leading in the Mawphlang seat.

According to the Election Commission’s update, Pyniaid Sing Syiem of the NPP is leading by 926 votes against his nearest rival candidate of the Congress, Highlander Kharmalki.

In the Mawphlang seat, Eugeneson Lyngdoh of the UDP is leading by 1700 votes against his nearest rival candidate of the Congress, Kennedy Cornelius Khyriem.

In Rajabala seat, Md. Abdus Saleh of the NPP is leading by 484 votes against his nearest rival candidate of the UDP, Ashahel D. Shira.
