The Odisha government announced on Friday that physical classes for the students of Classes 8 and 11 will resume from October 21 following strict Covid19 SOP.

According to media reports, physical classes for the students of Classes 9 and 12 have already begun in Odisha.

A report quoted Odisha school and mass education minister SR Dash as saying: “The Covid-19 situation has been improving in the state. We will resume classroom teaching for students of classes 8 and 11 from October 21.”

“A notification will be issued soon,” Dash said.

The Odisha school education minister said no decision has been taken for the reopening of schools for the students of Classes 1-7.

The schools in the state have remained closed from October 9 on the occasion of Durga Puja and Kumar Purnima and will reopen on October 21.

Many of the state governments have announced the re-opening of schools, which remained closed due to Covid19.

Keeping in view of the improvement of Covid19 situation, the Assam government ordered to resume physical classes for Classes 1-8 and Class 11 from October 19.

The physical classes of Class 9, all degree and postgraduate classes, all classes in technical institutions/universities, BEd colleges, both government and private, in Assam resumed from October 1.

The classes will be held by following strict Covid19 guidelines and protocols.

The Assam government has issued a separate Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for resuming the offline classes.
