A man from Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha district has shot dead his 36-year-old woman for speaking on the phone.
Following a complaint by the victim’s brother, the accused was arrested on Saturday.

According to the police, the accused suspected that his wife was having an affair with another man.
The victim was identified as Shama, a resident of Rajabpur.
She solemnized marriage with the accused, Fazil of Moradabad’s Anwarnagar, around seven months ago, nearly one year after the death of her first husband.

She, along with her 14-year-old son from her last marriage, started living with Fazil in a rented home in Rajabpur.
Shama’s sister named Farha was also staying at the couple’s rented house.
Late on Friday night, Fazil shot Shama dead for speaking on the phone, as he suspected that she was having an affair with somebody.
Hearing the gunshot sound, Farha woke up and came rushing to the spot.
Farha found Shama lying in a pool of blood, TOI reported.
The accused was arrested and three used cartridges were recovered from the crime scene.
Further probe into the case is underway.
In another incident, a 25-year-old woman ended her life in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar.
The woman took the extreme step after her husband divorced her by pronouncing talaq thrice and uploaded an obscene video of her on social media.
