As many as four persons have been arrested by the police in Assam’s Karbi Anglong for possessing arms and ammunition.
The arrests and seizure of arms and ammunition were made by a joint team of police personnel and Assam Rifles troopers.
The operation was launched at Gharialdubi area under Bokajan police station in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district based on a tip-off.
A .22 rifle, a 9 mm pistol, two .22 pistols, a Chinese grenade, a country-made grenade and several rounds of ammunition, besides magazines were recovered during the raid.

Meanwhile, the four arrested persons have been identified as Raju Ghatowar, Krishna Orang, Lokesh Kangari and Robert.
However, the police are yet to ascertain whether the four arrested persons belonged to any militant outfit or were they arms smuggler.
