Indian womenโ€™s hockey star Lalremsiami would be offered a government job and a plot of land in her hometown by the Mizoram Government for her performance at the Tokyo Olympics. 

The announcement was made by Mizoram chief minister Zoramthanga on Friday afternoon. 

โ€œOur hockey star Lalremsiami will be offered a government job & will be given a house plot at her hometown,โ€ Mizoram CM Zoramthanga said. 

Lalremsiami would also be rewarded with cash incentive of Rs 25 lakhs for her participation at the Tokyo Olympics.

Zoramthanga added: โ€œGovt of Mizoram had sanctioned Rs. 20 Lakhs for her preparation; will reward her with another Rs. 25 lakhs cash incentive for her participation at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.โ€

Lalremsiami was part of the Indian womenโ€™s hockey team that finished fourth at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics. 

The Indian womenโ€™s hockey teamโ€™s medal dreams dashed on Friday after it lost its bronze medal match to Great Britain.  

India lost the bronze medal match to Great Britain 3-4.  

Meanwhile, the Indian eves are being hailed by all for their fighting spirit. 

This was for the first time that an Indian womenโ€™s hockey team played a medal match.

With this loss, the Indian eves finished 4th at the Tokyo Olympics, their highest-ever Olympic finish in history, and competed for a medal at the Games for the first time. 

Although the Indian womenโ€™s hockey team lost their bronze medal match, they won the hearts of every Indian for the never say die spirit it showed on the turf. 

India womenโ€™s team booked a ride to the quarterfinals, where they shocked Australia to earn their first-ever semi-finals berth, but could not reach the final as they went down to Argentina 1-2.
