The central committee of Young Mizo Association or Central YMA (CYMA), the largest and most influential organisation in Mizoram, has demanded a probe by a Central agency into the alleged involvement of outside forces in the recently clash over inter-state boundary between Mizoram and Assam, a CYMA leader said.
CYMA president Vanlalruata said that the meeting of the organisation on Tuesday passed a resolution demanding a probe under the supervision of the Central government.
The demand came a day after BJP MPs from the Northeast met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and submitted a memorandum in which they alleged that the border tension between Assam and Mizoram was fueled by forces from outside.
The CYMA denied the allegation and said that it was “completely lie,” Vanlalruata said.
A delegation of MPs from Northeast headed by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Monday met Modi in Delhi and accused the Congress of politicising the border dispute between Assam and Mizoram.

No MP from Mizoram was present in the delegation.
The delegation also submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister seeking his intervention to resolve the boundary disputes among Northeast states.
During an interaction with the Prime Minister, Union Minister from Arunachal Pradesh Kiren Rijiju had reportedly said that tensions between Assam and Mizoram were fuelled by forces from outside the country.
He had allegedly said that lots of elements from outside our country fuelling violence by making inciting statements.
Earlier, the Assam government has linked the recent violent clash between police forces of two states to the handiwork of “non-state actors,” who have been angered by the state government’s massive crackdown on drug trafficking and restriction of transportation of cattle under the proposed Assam Cattle Protection legislation.
However, Mizoram home minister Lalchamliana had strongly refuted the allegation citing “no responsible government could be hand-in-glove or influenced by outsiders.”
The recent bloody clash that left at least seven people dead was purely a countermeasure for self-defence and to save civilian lives as the Assam police opened fire first toward Mizoram forces and civilians, he had claimed.
Meanwhile, the Assam government is sending two cabinet ministers to Aizawl on August 5 to hold talks with Mizoram government in order to defuse tension and restore peace.
