In a major road mishap, one youth was killed and four other persons were injured at the link road from Seujpur to Assam medical College Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Karan Gill (22) of AMCH campus in Dibrugarh.

According to police, a Bolero car, bearing registration no. AS06 W 0599, driven by Deep Shah of AMCH campus, was coming from the AMCH side along with three persons, namely Abhishek Raut 25), Rupom Bora (21) and Kamal Khan (24).

All of them reside in the AMCH campus.

The mishap took place when the Bolero hit one motorcycle, which was coming from the opposite direction towards AMCH.

As a result, the the motorcycle, bearing no. AS06-U-6726 bounced back and hit one Creta car (bearing registration no. AS01-EM0-2005) which was parked by the roadside.

After that the Bolero driver lost his control and hit another Maruti car, (bearing registration no. AS06-J-1691) which was parked on the road.

The Bolero car also damaged one electric post.

Police shifted all the injured persons to the AMCH.

As per the preliminary investigation carried out by police, the mishap occurred due to rush driving and negligence on the part of the Bolero driver.

All the damaged vehicles have been brought to the police station. A case has been registered by police.
