A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Friday for setting up a satellite centre of IIM Shillong in Arunachal Pradesh.
The IIM Shillong and Arunachal Pradesh government made the deal to collaborate as a knowledge partner for the capacity building of state government officers and necessary policy interventions.
Informing about the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu in a tweet on Friday said the MoU was signed with the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Centre for Policy Research & Analysis at IIM Shillong.

The MoU was signed between Arunachal Pradesh chief secretary Naresh Kumar and Prof DP Goyal, director of IIM Shillong in presence of chief minister Pema Khandu.
While terming the day historic, chief minister Khandu said capacity building is the most important aspect of governance and IIM Shillong is the best in the region in the context.
Khandu expects that the collaboration would pave way for creating a rich human resource which will augment the state’s development.
The Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Centre for Policy Research and Analysis of IIM Shillong is envisioned as a proactive embodiment of the philosophy of the late President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, of levering knowledge, technology and humanism to achieving sustainable development while ensuring the goals of a just and equitable social order.
The centre came up after a tripartite agreement between the Indian Institute of Management, Shillong and Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) and North Eastern Council (NEC) signed on October 15, 2016.
