In what can be termed as alarming, Covid-19 claimed nine more lives in Meghalaya on Monday.
With this the death toll has reached 871 in the state.

A total of 377 fresh positive cases were detected in the state in the past 24 hours.
The total number of positive cases has reached 51,901, of which 4,354 are positive cases.
So far 46,676 people have recovered from the disease.
A total of 7,46,818 people have been administered the Covid-19 vaccine in Meghalaya.
According to the state health department, 12,462 people were inoculated on Monday.
Meanwhile, the Centre has said that the except Meghalaya, positive cases in other northeastern states are declining.
A surge in positive cases occurred after many inmates of a jail in Ri-Bhoi district tested positive for the virus’
