BJP leader Pushkar Singh Dhami has been sworn-in as the new chief minister of Uttarakhand. 

Pushkar Singh Dhami, on Sunday, took oath as the eleventh chief minister of Uttarakhand. 

Dhami was sworn-in as Uttarakhand CM just a day after he was elected as the leader of BJP’s legislature party in the state. 

Dhami was administered oath of office by Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya at the Raj Bhavan in Dehradun. 

Apart from CM Dhami, BJP MLAs Satpal Maharaj, Harak Singh Rawat, Bansidhar Bhagat, Yashpal Arya, Bishan Singh Chuphal, Subodh Uniyal, Arvind Pandey and Ganesh Joshi were also inducted into the new state cabinet.

At the age of 45, Dhami became the youngest chief minister in Uttarakhand’s history. 

Dhami was sworn-in as the chief minister of Uttarakhand after all the 56 BJP MLAs in the State unanimously chose him for the top post. 

Before Dhami, MP Tirath Singh Rawat was serving as the chief minister of Uttarakhand. 

However, Rawat had to tender his resignation after uncertainty gripped holding of by-polls he was required to win to continue as the chief minister. 

Notably, the next Uttarakhand Assembly elections are likely to be held next year.
