Union Information Technology (IT) minister Ravi Shankar Prasad will inaugurate Tripura Startup Week on Monday at 12 noon in a virtual function in the presence of chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
The director of information technology in a press statement said the Tripura government has launched the IT/ITeS Start-Up Scheme-2019 to build the state as an IT Start-up hub in Northeast India.
In order to create a conducive environment for IT Start-up and to encourage industrial entrepreneurs, infrastructure and financial assistance are being provided through this scheme.
Under this scheme, the government provided an amount of Rs 10 lakh for proof of concept, Rs 1.5 lakh for one-time recruitment, plus 100% electricity and high-speed internet connection.
The press statement said the state government aims to create 100 IT Start-ups within the next five years.
The state has great potential for the development of the IT industry.
A large number of children in the state have received professional training in IT.
Observers say they can play a significant role in opening new horizons.
According to industry experts, the initiative will give Tripura a new lease of life which the young generation will implement.
Milestones will also be written for setting up new industries.
