One cyclist was killed on the spot in a tragic road accident that took place along National Highway 37 at Bokakhat in Assam’s Golaghat district late Saturday evening.

The cyclist was knocked down by a speeding vehicle along the National Highway near Bihara Tea Estate of Bokakhat in the eastern Assam district.

The deceased identified as one Krishna Munda is a tea garden labourer.

According to locals, Krishna Munda used to work as a labourer at the Bihara Tea Estate of Bokakhat.

The victim used to reside at lane number four of the labourers’ colony at the Bihara Tea Estate.

Locals witnessed the victim lying in a pool of blood on the side of the National Highway 37 and informed the police.

Meanwhile, Bokakhar Police have begun investigation to trace the vehicle that ran away after knocking down the tea garden labourer along the National Highway 37.
