“If we can inoculate 15000 persons daily, then by July 7 we can expect some positive outcome,’ he further said.

Meanwhile, the guardian minister of the district, Atul Bora and guardian secretary, Anant Lal Gyani will be in the district for the next three days to monitor the enhanced vaccination drive.

“The guardian ministers and guardian secretaries of all districts will monitor the vaccination drive so as to ensure we can achieve the target of 3 lakh vaccinations as per the schedule,” he said.

The Dibrugarh deputy commissioner also gave a presentation of the rescue, rehabilitation and relief plans to be conducted in case floods occur.

“The deputy commissioner will take decision and sanction funds for repair of damage houses and school buildings, transformers, etc during flood at their capacity instead of taking permission from Dispur,” the chief minister said.

Regarding the detection of a Black fungus case in the Assam Medical College and College (GMCH) on Saturday, Sarma said that fresh protocols have been issued to minimize the use of steroid in the treatment of Covid-19 patients and those with diabetes.

“As soon as the number of Covid-19 cases comes down, we will be able to control black fungus infections also,” he said.
