The Manipur government on Wednesday distributed 10 ambulances to six autonomous district councils during a function organized in Imphal in Manipur.
Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh handed over these ambulances to officials of the autonomous district councils in the presence of state health minister Vungzagin Valte.
These ambulances were procured by the state tribal affairs and hills department.

The chief minister said that these vehicles will greatly assist in transporting patients to hospital amidst the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, so that they can avail timely treatment.
While inaugurating the new Covid intensive care unit at the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences in Imphal recently, he asked doctors to do their utmost to save the lives of Covid-19 patients.
The pandemic has given the medical personnel an opportunity to utilize their expertise to save more lives, he said.
