Assam Rifles jawans on Monday came forward to donate blood on the occasion of ‘World Blood Donor Day’.
Troops of the Serchhip battalion of 23 Assam Rifles donated their blood during a blood donation camp held at the district hospital in Mizoram’s Serchhip district.
During the occasion they also interacted with the public and encouraged them to donate their blood, that can save the lives of many ailing persons.

On the other hand, 38 personnel of the Lunglei battalion of 23 Assam Rifles donated their blood at a similar blood donation camp held at the civil hospital in Mizoram’s Lunglei district on Monday.
“Donating blood is a noble deed and more people should come out to donate their blood to save more lives,” said a Assam Rifles personnel.
“During the ongoing pandemic many critically ill Covid-19 patients are in need of blood and it is important that the healthy donate their blood to save precious lives,” he said.
“Any healthy individual can donate blood as it gets replenished within a short duration in the human body,” said a health official of the Lunglei district health department.
