In a noble gesture, the Dimapur Muslim Council has formed a voluntary group called the ‘Alvida volunteers’ comprising members of the Muslim community to help needy families or individuals who require help for burial or cremation of a deceased person who died due to Covid-19, either at hospital or at home

Working president of the council Ahidur Rahman on Tuesday said this service will be extended to the people of all communities be they Christian, Hindu or Muslim so as to ensure a respectful farewell from this world during this pandemic period.

Rahman requested the Dimapur District Task Force for Covid, medical superintendent of Dimapur Civil Hospital and the directors of all the Covid care hospitals and NGOs concerned to contact him at phone number 7005203887 or Altaf Hussain at 7005506019 if they need the help of ‘Alvida volunteers’.
