The Covid19 death toll has reached 20 in Lakhimpur district as the pandemic situation is fast getting worse in the district.
This was known from the latest Covid bulletin released by the district health department.
According to the district health officials, three people lost their lives in Lakhimpur district on Monday.
The district’s Covid19 positive cases accumulated to 1,901 with a single-day spike of 107 cases on Monday.
There are 810 active positive cases in the district as of Monday evening.

Meanwhile, the Lakhimpur district administration declared two more containment zones in two different places.
Containment zone was declared in Majgaon village under Ghilamora police station of Subansiri Revenue Circle following detection of 11 Covid19 positive patients.
Another containment zone was declared in Padumoni Kekuri village under Bogeenadi police station in Kadam Revenue Circle as 14 persons were found Covid19 positive on Monday.
This increased the number of Covid Containment Zones in the district to 9.
One zone was declared free from containment so far in the district.
In Gogamukh, 5 containment zones have been declared following community spread of the Covid19 virus by guests attending a marriage function.
Twenty guests of a marriage function in Tajik village in Gogamukh tested Covid19 positive on Monday prompting the authorities to declare containment zones in that area.
The SOPs declared by Assam government concerning plying of vehicles on odd-even basis have been enforced strictly by the police administration in Lakhimpur district.
In many places of the district, violators of the SOPs have been booked while in some cases complicity by police has been alleged.
