Assam on Monday recorded the highest single-day spike of 92 deaths due to Covid19 infection.
In the last 24 hours, Assam has reported a total of 6,394 positive cases.
The news has been confirmed by Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Monday evening.
The new cases have been confirmed out of 91,481 tests.
The overall positivity percentage in Assam stands at 6.99% on Monday, according to the data shared by chief minister Sarma.

Of the new cases, Kamrup Metro district alone has reported 1,100 cases.
Assam’s Covid19 recovery rate stood at 85.73%.

On Sunday, Assam reported 56 Covid19 deaths and 3,650 new positive cases.
The new positive cases were confirmed out of 42,884 tests on Sunday.
Assam’s overall positivity percentage stood at 8.51% on Sunday.
Meanwhile, in view of rising Covid19 cases, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday announced a ban on inter-district movement of people with effect from May 21.
