With COVID-19 cases in Nagaland rising rapidly, the State Government has announced a 7-day lockdown in the State.
Lockdown in Nagaland will come into force for seven days from May 14.
The high-powered committee on COVID-19 in Nagaland decided to impose lockdown in the State to break the chain of transmission.
The lockdown in Nagaland will start at 6pm on May 14 and will continue till May 21.

The decision of clamping lockdown was taken by the high-powered committee on COVID-19 during a meeting held at Nagaland Chief Minister’s residence in Kohima on Tuesday.
“The existing restrictions will continue till the total lockdown is in place,” said a statement from the HPC on COVID-19.
“During the lockdown period, Health & Family welfare department may pursue aggressive testing, utilising the full testing capacity of the COVID-19 laboratories,” the statement added.
The Nagaland Government will release a fresh set of SOPs for the lockdown period soon.

Notably, COVID-19 woes have been on the rise in Nagaland in recent times.
On Monday, Nagaland registered 10 COVID-19 deaths and 133 new cases.
