The Gauhati University UG and PG exams will be held in online mode. 

This was decided by the Gauhati University authorities on Friday. 

The decision to hold the UG (under graduate) and PG (post graduate) exams of the Gauhati University online was taken by the varsity authorities after discussions will all stakeholders. 

The Gauhati University UG and PG exams will be held online keeping in view the deteriorating situation of COVID-19 in Assam.

The decision to hold the UG and PG exams of the Gauhati University online was taken after a crucial meeting held on Monday. 

The meeting was chaired by Gauhati University Vice-Chancellor Professor Pratap Jyoti Handique. 

The meeting was attended by General Secretaries of Gauhati University Teachers’ Association, Assam College Principals’ Council, Assam College Teachers’ Association and all the heads of the Teaching Departments of Gauhati University, Principal of University Law College, Director of GUIST, Registrar and Secretary of University Classes and Controller of Examinations. 

The meeting discussed the ensuing examinations of the Gauhati University.

“After threadbare discussion on the matter and taking into account the current situation, the meeting decided that all pending examinations will be held in Open Book System in the online mode only,” Registrar of Gauhati University informed in a statement. 

The PG examinations will start from June 1 and would get over by June 15. 

On the other hand, the UG exams will start from the second week of June.

Moreover, a committee has also been constituted to streamline the system and to offer necessary suggestions to the Controller of Examinations. 

“A detailed notification will be published by the Controller of Examinations in this regard soon which will also contain information about the SOP for the online mode,” Registrar of Gauhati University added.
