Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has said that the Government’s lack of an efficient COVID-19 vaccination strategy has placed India in a dangerous spot.
Rahul Gandhi stated this in a hard-hitting letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday.
Rahul Gandhi said: “Your government’s lack of a clear and coherent COVID and vaccination strategy… has placed India in a highly dangerous position.”
“It (COVID-19) is in the verge of overwhelming all of our systems,” Rahul Gandhi added.

Rahul Gandhi in his letter to PM Modi also highlighted four ‘urgent’ issues that need addressal:
“a) Scientifically track the virus and its mutations across the Country using genome sequencing as well as its disease patterns.
b) Dynamically assess the efficacy of all vaccines against all new mutations as they are identified.
c) Rapidly vaccinate our entire population.
d) Be transparent and keep the rest of the world informed about our findings.”

Rahul Gandhi added that the Government’s failures in containing the pandemic have made “another devastating national lockdown almost inevitable”.
“To prevent a repeat of the manifold suffering caused by last year’s lockdown, the government must act with compassion and provide critical financial and food support to our most vulnerable people,” Rahul Gandhi said.
