Nagaland Governor RN Ravi on Monday urged the church leaders of the State to use their moral and spiritual capital to save the people from the Covid-19 pandemic.

He reminded them of their significant role in this extraordinary situation.

Ravi held an interaction-cum-consultative meeting with the church leaders of various Christian denominations of Nagaland on the Covid-19 pandemic at Raj Bhavan in Kohima.

Deliberating on the Covid-19 situation in the country and the State, Ravi told the church leaders that they have moral and spiritual authority and influence over the people.

He advised them to make the people more conscious and aware of the Covid-19 challenges and need for strictly adhering to the Covid appropriate behavior.

Ravi also expressed concern over the inhibitions of the people to go for vaccination and the prevalence of adverse rumours in this regard.

He urged the church leaders to educate and encourage the eligible persons to go for the vaccination as the current ratio of vaccination in the State is one of the lowest in the country.

He thanked the church leaders for their valuable suggestions to deal with the situation which will be forwarded to the government for follow-up.
