CRPF inspector Dilip Kumar Das, who was martyred during a Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh, was cremated with full state honours in his village at Sarupeta in newly-created Barpeta district.
Das was serving as an inspector with the 210 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Chhattisgarh.

After the attack on Saturday, the missing body of Das was found in the wee hours of Sunday and was immediately sent to the district hospital in Raipur, where the doctors declared him ‘dead’.
The mortal remains of the martyr reached Guwahati airport on Tuesday morning.
From there, his mortal remains were taken to 175 CRPF camp situated at Dharapur and then to his hometown at Sarupeta in Bhabanipur. Das joined the CRPF in 2001.

He has left behind his wife Pranjali Das and two daughters, namely Hiyamani Das (11) and Risha Das (3), his father Banamali Das and mother Maina Das and a host of relatives.
A pall of gloom descended in the entire area after the death of the CRPF inspector.

Heart-rending scenes were witnessed at the house of the martyred CRPF inspector when his mortal remains reached his home.
Before his cremation, rich tributes were paid to the martyred CRPF man.

His funeral was performed in presence of hundreds of people and well-wishers, CRPF and police officials.
Full state honour was given to the martyr, who sacrificed his life for the country.
At least 22 security personnel were killed and 30 others injured in an encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh on Saturday.
The attack took place in a forest along the border between Bijapur and Sukma districts in Chhattisgarh.
