The CCTV camera installed at the strong room has allegedly caught the ‘shadow’ of a person sneaking into the strong room where the EVMs of the Lahowal Assembly constituency have been kept.

The Congress alleged that the shadow of the person, caught entering the strong room, has been clearly seen on CCTV No 6.

After receiving the complaint, Dibrugarh deputy commissioner-cum-returning officer Pallav Gopal Jha reached the strong room and took the stock of the situation.

The Dibrugarh deputy commissioner claimed the room, where CCTV No 6 has been installed, doesn’t have EVMs but there are other election-related documents.

However, the deputy commissioner did not divulge any details about the person who entered the strong room and the purpose of his entry.

He also did not reveal what action would be taken against the person, who entered the strong room as such entry is “illegal”.
