Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma on Monday urged people to vote for incumbent CEM of Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC), Dipul Marak in the forthcoming council elections.
Chief minister Sangma on Monday campaigned for incumbent GHADC CEM Marak at Garobadha, Selsella and Kalchenpara.
Speaking at a rally at Garobadha, Conrad, who is also the NPP chief, said that a number of intervention was taken under the leadership of Marak to reform the council, including abolition of ghost employees.
Appealing electorates to vote for Marak, Conrad Sangma termed Dipul as a hardcore party loyalist, who has the calibre and leadership quality to work for the grassroots people.
“Dipul Marak has closely worked with our founder leader late PA Sangma and dedicated himself for the party and the interest of the people. He has been tirelessly working to reform council and he deserves to be re-elected,” chief minister Sangma said.
He further said that Marak is an able and disciplined leader, who knows his responsibility towards the society.
The elections for the GHADC will be held on April 12.
