The state government has imposed section 144 in Agartala and other parts of the state for two days to avoid unnecessary crowds during the festival of Holi
The decision has been taken by the administration as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of Covid-19 spread.
The district magistrate of West Tripura district, Sailesh Kumar Yadav said that the curfew will be imposed on Sunday and Monday.
As per the order, five or more persons cannot move together and people have been prevented from riding pillion on these days.

Yadav said that mass gathering would not be allowed and the state would follow the Covid-19 guidelines issued by the Centre.
More than 40 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last two weeks, with eight of them testing positive on Saturday.
There are 48 active cases in Tripura at present.
At a time when the second wave of Covid-19 is creating havoc in India, most people have stopped wearing masks, maintaining social distance and using hand sanitizers to prevent infection.
Moreover, huge political rallies are being organized in the different parts of Tripura ahead of the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections.
