Top Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has said that the BJP is a party that โ€œpromotes hatred to create divisionsโ€ among people.

Rahul Gandhi made this statement while interacting with college students at Lahowal in Dibrugarh after arriving in the State on Friday morning.

โ€œIt is the BJP that uses hatred to divide society. No matter where they go to spread hatred,โ€ Rahul Gandhi said.

โ€œNo religion teaches enmity,โ€ Rahul Gandhi added.

Rahul Gandhi further said that for development to usher, peace is of utmost necessity.

Indirectly attacking the RSS โ€“ BJPโ€™s ideological fountainhead, Rahul Gandhi said that โ€œthere is one force in Nagpur that is trying to control the entire countryโ€.

Rahul Gandhi on Friday asserted that his party, if voted to power in Assam, will ensure that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) is not implemented in the state.

Further speaking about rising unemployment issue, Rahul Gandhi targeted the BJP saying that the 25 lakh Government jobs promised by the saffron party never happened because โ€œthe ruling Government does not believe in keeping promisesโ€.

Interacting with students in Lahowal Rahul Gandhi highlighted the Assam Congressโ€™ 5 lakh jobs โ€˜guaranteeโ€™.

โ€œ5 lakh jobs will be created for our youth to realise their dreams,โ€ said Rahul Gandhi.

Further hitting out at the BJP for โ€˜sellingโ€™ the airports of Assam to private sectors, Rahul Gandhi said, โ€œWill the money made by private companies from airports in Assam come back to the people of Assam? No. The money will move out of the State.โ€

While interacting with students, Rahul Gandhi said that democracy means โ€“ voice of Assam should control Assam.

โ€œDemocracy means-voice of Assam should control Assam. If we donโ€™t include students then there can be no democracy. Youth should actively participate in politics and fight for Assam when you feel state is being robbed. Youโ€™ll have to fight with love not with stones, lathis,โ€ said Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi is on a two-day tour of Assam for election campaigning.

Rahul Gandhi is also likely to release the Congressโ€™ manifesto for Assam Assembly elections on Saturday.
