Notably, the Congress has ‘guaranteed’ hike in the daily wages of the tea workers in Assam up to Rs 365.
Hike in the daily wages of the tea workers of Assam is one of the five ‘guarantees’ that the Assam Congress is banking on to win the ensuing Assam Assembly elections and wrest the State from the ruling BJP.
Earlier, Assam Congress chief Ripun Bora had said the party “will fix the daily wage of Assam tea workers at Rs 365 within 30 days of coming to power”.
On the other hand, The ACMS has been demanding hike in minimum wages of the tea garden workers up to Rs 351.
