The Nagaland government on Sunday issued an order allowing all religious places to operate with 100 per cent capacity across the state.

However, people will have to adhere to all Covid-19 protocols at all places of worship.

Principal secretary (home) Abhijit Sinha issued the order.

The Nagaland government had so far allowed only a few people to enter religious places like temples, churches, mosques, etc at a time to enable them to maintain social distance while offering prayers.

This was being done to prevent the transmission of the novel coronavirus in public places during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

“Although people have been allowed to visit places of worship, it is mandatory for them to wear face masks and maintain social distance. They have to adhere to Covid-appropriate behavior,” said a senior official of the state government.
