Assam Rifles troops recovered heroin worth approximately Rs 1.3 crore during operations in Mizoram.
A total of three persons were also apprehended in connection with the smuggling.
The operations were jointly carried by Assam Rifles troops along with the excise and narcotics department and customs department in Mizoram on Friday.
This has been confirmed by Assam Rifles on its Twitter handle on Saturday.
The consignments of heroin were recovered during operations at Thuampui Veng in Aizawl district and Zokhawthar in Champhai district.
The recovered contraband was later handed over to the authorities.
