A Kokrajhar Police team at Rampur seized a truck with 13 cattle heads hidden under a cover on Friday.

The police during an operation carried out on the basis of inputs received from its source detained the truck, bearing registration No. UP12T-3795 at Simultapu police checkpoint.

The police during the checking found that half portion of the truck was kept empty with a partition in the middle of the truck.

On further checking, the police found 13 cattle heads kept in the other part of the partition.

After checking, the police seized the cattle on the spot and arrested two persons in this connection as they failed to produce proper documents.

The arrested persons have been identified as 50-year-old Md. Dishad, son of Yamin, a resident of Pardi village under Sahpur police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzafarnagar and 40-year-old Md. Sadakat Ali, son of late Ali Mohammad, a resident of Harara village under Saralpur PS in UP’s Meerut.

“Investigation is on. Necessary action will be taken as per law.” Kokrajhar superintendent of police Rakesh Raushan said.
