The announcement of โ€œdeparture of head coach Gerard Nusโ€ came just hours after the 1-1 draw against Bengaluru FC on Tuesday.

โ€œThe club has decided to part ways with the Spanish National after taking into consideration a contrast in the teamโ€™s current tactics and the clubโ€™s philosophy and vision,โ€ the statement from the Northeast United FC further read.

Meanwhile, Khalid Jamil has been appointed as the interim head coach of Northeast United FC.

Northeast United FC decided to โ€œpart waysโ€ with Gerard Nus after just 11 matches in the ongoing 2020-21 season of the Indian Super League (ISL).

Northeast Unitedโ€™s last win came against SC East Bengal on December 5 last year which it had won 2-0.

It has been now seven winless games on a trot for highlanders.

Nus happens to be the second manager to be let go this season, after Bengaluru FC had parted ways with Carles Cuadrat last week.
