Indian Cricket Team Captain Virat Kohli and his wife Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma are blessed with a girl child.
Virat took to social media to share that the couple welcomed their first child.
Anushka Sharma gave birth to the “health baby” girl on Monday afternoon.
Asking his fans to pay respect to their privacy, Virat Kohli posted an official statement on his Twitter handle.
“We are thrilled to share with you all that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon. We thank you all for your love, prayers and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope that you can respect our privacy this time. Love Virat,” Virat Kohli said in his statement.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma had announced on August last year that they were expecting their first child.
In a recent interview with the Vogue magazine, Anushka Sharma had said that she and her husband Virat do not want to “raise a child in the public eye”.
The Bollywood actor also expressed that “parenthood is about sharing duties” and they “don’t want to raise brats”.
Virat Kohli, had returned from the ongoing tour of India to Australia on paternity leave after playing the ODI series, T20 series and the first Test Match, to be by the side of his wife Anushka Sharma.
