Tripura BJP unit is now attempting to woo voters for the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections through music.

The state BJP unit on Saturday launched five songs for the upcoming elections at the Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala.

Tripura deputy chief minister Jishnu Debbarma officially launched the musical album during the function.

Thelbum titled ‘Khumulung Chini’ has been named after Khumulung, the headquarter of the autonomous council areas.

Jishnu Debbarma said, “The songs have been created for the autonomous district council (ADC) elections that were formed to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of the indigenous people of Tripura.”

“The CD comprises of five Kokborok (the local indigenous language) songs on the elections,” he said.

MP Rebati Tripura said, “The five songs narrate how Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tripura chief minister Biplab Deb are constantly working for the progress of the state as well as India.”

“The title Khumulung Chini means Khumulung is ours in the local Kakborok language.

BJP state president Manik Saha and several other party leaders attended the programme.

Meanwhile, Tripura BJP in-charge Vinod Sonkar on Friday held a meeting with party state leaders in Agartala on the ADC elections.

The BJP is trying to win the elections to the TTAADC that has 28 seats.

The CPIM had been winning all the seats to the council for the last 15 years.
