BJP Mizoram Pradesh on Thursday rebuffed the allegation against party president Vanlalhmuaka as “baseless.”
Recently, former BJP leader K Vanlalruati had alleged that Vanlalhmuaka and party state secretary Sunni Lalthangmawia have embezzled lakhs of party funds received from party headquarters in New Delhi, which has adversely affected the party organisation.

Reacting to the allegation, the BJP in a statement said that the allegation was “baseless” as the two-party leaders did not misappropriate party funds.
Terming the allegation “unfortunate”, the BJP said that K. Vanlaruati has already been expelled from the party for her misconduct.
“It was unfortunate and shocking that the expelled leader levelling a baseless allegation against party president Vanlalhmuaka, who helped the former several times from being defamed for her misconduct,” the statement said.

Citing that Vanlalruati’s move was politically motivated, the BJP said that she must have been instigated by some anti-BJP groups, who want to remove the party from the state politics.
Denouncing Vanlalruati’s comments that a state president has no authority to expel any members, the BJP Mizoram unit also said that the party constitution guaranteed the president to have sole authority to expel party members.
